How to turn off networking on my iPhone but still have access to Wi-Fi?

I'm going abroad and would like to turn off networking on my iPhone so that I don't get any texts or phone calls but would still like to use Wi-Fi, is that possible? And will it cost me?

It won't cost you.

In settings, turn on Flight Mode and leave it on.

You can then go to the Wi-Fi menu which will have been turned off by flight mode, but you can turn it back on and use it as normal while surpressing calls and texts etc.

Hope that helps

In order to turn off cellular data, you can go into settings and then cellular and the first option is to turn cellular data off so that it is restricted to Wi-Fi only. You would then have to go back to this setting to turn it back on later, and calls/texts could still come in.

Two places under that is Data Roaming, you may want to turn that off and leave it off. This would prevent you from incurring data charges if you are out of network even within the United States.

In order to restrict calls and texts during your trip, swipe up from the bottom of your screen in order to open the Control Panel. Click on the airplane in the upper left, and then click on the Wi-Fi symbol next to it to turn it back on. This will allow you to use Wi-Fi only, no cellular data will be used.

If you happen to be a T-Mobile customer, they are rolling out a new feature/benefit. In more than 100 countries you will not incur roaming charges for data or texting (only calls, and I believe you could utilize Wi-Fi to avoid that). It costs nothing.
