How to turn off text notifications on iPhone for specific messages?
I'm in a texting group chat with two other people, and they text way too much and I get really annoyed with them because I don't care about what they're saying half of the time and I have to concentrate on other things. Is there any way to still receive their messages, but not get a vibration without turning of my vibration completely?
You can't do this for specific messages, however you can do this for specific senders.
The easiest way would be to go to the address book entry for the people in question and set their text tone/vibration to None.
Another option would be to use the Do Not Disturb feature in the latest version of iOS. This allows you to silence calls, alerts, notifications from everyone or to permit select people.
- When I turn my iPhone off I don't receive any messages when I turn it back on? My iPhones been like this for a while. I'll turn it off and say my friend will text me, when I turn it back on I won't get any of the messages. Anyone know how to fix this?
- Not getting notifications for text messages on Iphone 5? Not sure what the problem is. Sometimes I get them, and then other times I'll check my phone after a few hours to find out I have a whole bunch of unread messages that I wasn't notified that I received.
- If I turn off push messages on my iphone 4 will I still get my regular text messages? I read that turning off push messages or setting them to manually helps save battery life. I want to know if I do this will I still be able to receive my regular text messages.
- I can't send standard text messages on my iPhone 6 when I turn off cellular data? IIm not sure if IIm just being stupid about this or not, but I can't send standard text messages when I turn my cellular off. I need to cut back on my data usage, so I like to turn it off. Any ideas on what's happening?
