How to turn off your iphone?
I just wanna turn it off without having to wait a minute or two for it to darken. My son told me to press the button at the top but I used to have a Nokia phone and the button at the top shuts it down completely so I don't trust him.

If you mean turn it completely off, you normally need to hold down the button for up to 10 seconds and then you let it go when it is off.
If you mean off, like the phone is sleaping and turns on right away you just have to tap the button. Sometimes phones have two buttons. One for completely off / on and one for "sleep".
