How to turn on data roaming only for iMessages on iPhone 5S?

I'm in the UK for three weeks, and I want to be able to use iMessage to text my girlfriend during this time. We both have iPhones, so that's not an issue. I have a 120MB data package, so I'm afraid that if I turn on data roaming so I can receive iMessages, that it will receive all sorts of data and rack up a massive bill.

Is there any way that I can have my phone roam for just the data iMessage uses, and turn it to Wi-Fi only for everything else?

Any help is appreciated more than you can imagine.

Your phone carrier would have to open up international for you and there would be charges to use it. Otherwise Wi-Fi can be used free.

Okay so when I go to work located near the boarder occasionally I get a your now US roaming chargers messages. Does turning off data roaming remove all roaming charges like phone calls, messages, etc or just email and Internet like it says? I'd hate to be billed just because I'm too close. Just been turning off all network connections at work so far and data roaming is usually off anyway.
