How to turn on my iPhone 4S while its dead, but on the charger?

When I had an iPhone 3GS, I could just hold down the sleep/wake button and the apple logo would come on and my phone would turn on. I have tried holding down every button in every combination and no matter what I can't get my 4S to turn on while it is charging. I have also searched all over the web to find out how to get it to turn on. I can't find any information AT All and I'm getting really frustrated because I don't want to wait 5-20 minutes for my phone to turn on, especially when I'm trying to do something important like emails or work.

If you're phone is completely dead and you're plugging it in to charge it, your best option is to charge it in a "wall outlet" because it chargers it faster.

You're phone is not turning back on because it is "dead".It needs enough juice to power on. My advice to you is to add "Battery Percentage" to your phone so you can monitor it's life by %. If you are getting close to 1% left, get it to a wall charger.

To turn "Battery Percentage" on, simply go to

Settings --> General --> Usage -->

here you will see an "On/Off" toggle switch for "Battery Percentage"

  • My iPhone won't turn on unless its plugged into a wall charger? My first issue is, my phone won't turn on unless its plugged into the wall. When it finally turns on after being plugged in it tells me my phone needs to be restored and that it can't make or receive calls until so, well great but, when i unplug it from the wall it immediately turns off and will not turn on when plugged into my computer. I've tried different USB cables but none of them work.

My iPhone had died yesterday, while I was downloading songs, and I think it was using up too much space, because I had it plugged in and my battery percentage was going down, but it showed the icon that the phone was still charging. I was wondering how I would be able to restore my phone or delete things off of it? ITunes will not show because the phone is not on.
