How to update iphone correctly?
Correctly as in a way that I don't lose my apps, pictures, contacts, and music.
My iphone is jailbroken by the way. Will this affect anything? I don't care if I lose cydia when I update.
I don't think you can update when your phone is jailbroken, you would have to back up the phone on iTunes, restore it, then get all the info back, then update it (thats what i had to do!) but if you don't know, then don't take a chance, but jailbreaking isn't covered with apple if it damages it
1.back your iphone up on your laptop/desktop.
2.go into your iphone settings.
3.start the update.
4.wait for update to finish
all your apps etc. Should still be there. If not, plug your iphone back into your laptop/desktop and download every thing again.
This works for me and I have and Ipod 4, ipod5 iphone 4gs iphone5s ipad1 ipad2.

- Is my iPhone backed up correctly? My iPhone 4 device is having an issue, and I'm trying to get is swapped out today. I want to back up my data to the iCloud, but there's some confusion. On iTunes my phone is switched to "Back up to iCloud", and under that it says it's last back up was when I plugged it into my computer. But on my phone under iCloud backup, it says it has never been backed up. Is this normal? Two different answers doesn't help me out really…
