How to update my iPhone 4s ios 7?
It was easy at first to update my iPhone 4s ios 5 to 6 then 7 because I used to get notification and when I checked general>software update there used to be an available install for the new ios but now IIm not getting this notification ( even though ios 8 is available right now ) and when I check if there's a software update they say " your software is up to date " I already know it is but I want to update it to ios 8 or 9. My mom have the same iPhone 4s and she always gets this notification and updated her iphone to ios 9 so why IIm not not able to update it?
You can't update to iOS 7 anymore. It's impossible. Apple released iOS 9 for the iPhone 4S and newer, so if you want to upgrade your iOS, you have to upgrade to iOS 9. You can't pick and choose.
Also, are you sure that you have an iPhone 4S? If it keeps telling you that iOS 7 is the latest version, then you have an iPhone 4. Check the back of the phone in the tiny letters. If you see something like A1349 or A1332, then you have an iPhone 4. If you see any of these A1431 A1387 A1387, then you have a 4S.
If you have the iPhone 4, you can't update past iOS 7.1.2. There are never going to be any more updates for it.
If you have the iPhone 4s, then you can upgrade to iOS 9, but you can't choose iOS 8 anymore. It's too late.
- Update stopped during ios update own iphone now phones broke I connected my iPhone 4 to my computer (iTunes) and started doing the update through iTunes. About five minutes into the update iTunes in my computer stops working, causing the update to of course stop working. Now my phone will not turn on. On the screen it is black with the 'charge symbol' as if it were low on battery and an iTunes symbol. I have tried turning my phone off and on, but of course it didn't respond.

- Is the IOS UPDATE 11.2.2 update The one that is supposed to slow down the older Apple Phones? If this is the one, I don't want that. I have an IPhone 6s+.
- Is the iOS 6.1 update on iPhone 3 safe to update? On my first iPhone there were problems, and the update didn't help it wiped out everything and among other things had to get a new iPhone. The iPhone I have now works, so should I risk this update? It's a 3GS.
