How to update the older bluetooth in my car stereo to work with the new iPhones?
I installed a Pioneer FHX700BT stereo into my 1997 Lexus es300. It's an awesome stereo, with one of it's best components being bluetooth connectivity geared towards apple products. However, I installed this stereo two years ago now, and it's time to get a new iPhone. My 4S works perfectly with the bluetooth, and connects upon startup automatically. However, every new apple product since then does not pair with the bluetooth in the stereo no matter what I do. I believe it is because new versions of bluetooth probably came out in the phones that obviously aren't in the stereo. So, I'm wondering if anyone knows a way to update the bluetooth in my car so that it works with apple products since the iPhone 4s, specifically the iphone 6.
In a worst case scenario, the usb connection works fine with all apple products, but obviously bluetooth is more convenient since I can control the phone through the stereo with bluetooth, which I can't do through usb.
I don't know man sorry
- Would there be a benefit of having bluetooth 4.0 if some devices use older versions? I have the iPhone 5 which supports BLE 4.0 and also own a pebble watch which also supports 4.0. My car however only supports bluetooth 1.2. Does this mean I will not experience the battery benefits of BLE since I will still need to connect to my car which is on the older 1.2 version of bluetooth?
- Need a suggestion for a new car stereo? Just bought a 2003 tahoe and I'd like to put in a new stereo. The car has all Bose speakers I just want a good stereo that works well with them. Must be a double din to fit. I have an iphone but my husband uses Droid so I want something compatible with more than just the iphone. I'd like USB and aux plug in. Possibly Bluetooth. Any suggestions? Under $200?
- My iphone doesn't work with my car stereo or ihome? My car has a charger which also works for playing music and has all my music on my GPS screen (i have a VW 2013 Beetle). One day, my car stereo and my iHome stopped playing my music and said my phone didn't work with the accessory. I have an iPhone 4 if that helps. My brother's iPhone 4 works both in my car and in my iHome, so something is definitely wrong with my phone. What do I do?
