How to use an iPad mini as an iphone?

I've seen here and there that is possible to use an iPad mini as an iPhone with pretty much the same capabilities but can you please indicate me what apps are there I should download to do that?

And also how can I use the iPad mini for making and receiving calls? Do I have to get some accessories like earphones or any stuff? I.e. How can I hear when it seems that the iPad mini is not geared with a hearing speaker at the top next to the camera?

I'm planning to get rid of my iPhone and use an iPad mini for all purposes. Is that possible?

11. Connect your iPad to a USB port on your Mac mini. Launch iTunes and download "Snatch" from the iPad App Store. Drag the program to your iPad and disconnect the device.
12. Launch Snatch on your iPad. Tap your Mac mini on the welcome screen to connect your iPad through Wi-Fi.
13. Tap "Launch Pad" at the bottom of the screen to see a list of the programs installed on your Mac. Tap a program to launch it, and tap "Tracking," "Scrolling" or "Keys" to use the various functions of the touch screen.

It will never have the same capabilities because its not a phone. You could get the celltower plan with it though and use apps to talk to people, then you could use it whether you are in Wi-Fi or not on Wi-Fi.

The iPad mini is not a phone. It will never be able to send or receive your voice calls.

  • What use is an ipad or ipad mini to someone with an iphone and macbook? I'm thinking of getting an ipad mini or ipad 2 for someone who already has an iphone 5 and macbook pro. I don't know how useful it will be since they are not likely to use it outside of their home and i'll be getting the non 3g version so it won't be much use when they take it out anyway.
