How to use instagram while vacationing in another country?

I'm going to Uganda and Kenya in July. I have an iPhone 4S with Bell. I'm staying in a hotel that will have Wi-Fi. Will I be able to keep my phone so I don't get calls or texts but can still use Wi-Fi to upload pictures to instagram or my status on Facebook?
How would I do that? On airplane mode, can I connect to Wi-Fi?

  • Will i still be able to use my iphone in another country without jailbreaking? I bought my iphone4 in japan since i was living there for sometime. But I've moved to a different country now. And I want to use the network provided.i'm still using ios4 and i feel like my iphone has been a lot more slower than it used to. Some tell me that in order to use it in a different country i need to jailbreak it but i want to update it to ios5. Will i still be able to use it if I update it to ios5?
  • When in a contract, can I get a different SIM while in another country? I'm going to china in 15 days and I want an IPhone so I can take pictures and have data while I'm there. I'm staying for an entire month. Getting this IPhone (with either sprint or T-mobile) with put me in a 2 year contract. Will I be able to use my phone while I'm there with the new SIM card I'm buying in China. I heard that my phone will be locked while I'm out of the country or something.
  • Use of an iphone in another country? I'm going to be going on vacation to portugal and i currently live in canada. I have an iphone and i was going to take it with me to take pictures and use the internet there (connecting to their Wi-Fi). My question is: will i get charged for taking my phone there? Will my messages still come in? Will i get charged even if I'm only using my phone with connecting to Wi-Fi to access social networks?
  • How to use my iphone for music and Wi-Fi in another country? I'm travelling to Africa soon, and want to be able to use my iphone 4s for music, notes, games, and Wi-Fi so I can upload pictures and such to instagram and everything. I don't want to receive or be able to send any texts or phone calls. I don't want my phone to be roaming either, because that costs alot. How am I able to do this? What are the settings that I set my phone too?
