How to use laptop as a hotspot modem FOR my iphone?

Guys, i know we can use iphone as a Hotspot Wi-Fi modem for other phones or laptops to go on internet.
My question is can we do the other way round, Can we use laptop's internet connection (through usb cable or Wi-Fi or Bluetooth) as a hotspot modem for iphone?

Situation:
I don't have Wi-Fi internet here in the office. Only cable internet is available.
i want to use viber/use whatsapp/surf internet through my iphone cuz i don't have data internet function in my phone network as I'm out of my home country. So I was thinking if we can use iphone as a Wi-Fi/cable modem for laptop all the time then there must be a way to use internet connection available on my laptop to be used for my iphone too.
Is it?

I have an iphone, and my Wi-Fi just went down so I was wondering if it would cost to use that 'personal hotspot' thing onto my laptop because I want to watch netflix, and in not doing it on my phone (screens small) Oh and I have unlimited data (3G) and my providers I think are EE.
  • Modem resets when laptop connected via Wi-Fi? When I connect my laptop to network via Wi-Fi it resets modem as if I was just turn it on. I have spoken to tech support they seem to think there's a problem with my wireless modem but it connects fine and doesn't drop out with iPhones smart tv etc so I can't see how it could be a wireless problem. When I connect laptop direct to Ethernet it doesn't drop out. Could there be a problem with Wi-Fi in the laptop?
