How to use my iphone 5s to show my video recording on my computer?

I want to record video from my iphone 5s but I want to see what I'm recording on my windows 7 computer. Can't find anything on the internet about this. I basically want to start making youtube videos with my iphone but want to be able to see myself better

Well… This has "not going to happen" all over it.

You want to use a phone to capture video, but so you can see better you want to use a computer as the monitor rather that a normal TV video monitor. The iPhone has no way to send the video you are capturing to an external TV monitor. Your computer's monitor is not a TV. There's no video streaming from the iPhone to a computer or TV - and no tethering for video to a computer, either.

If you have an AppleTV device and can get the iPhone connected to it - and assuming the AppleTV is connected to a TV - not a computer - then you might be able to use the TV as a monitor. But not a computer.

This is not specific to your phone - what you want to to, but can't, is how all smartphones behave.

Sounds like you need to invest in a camcorder and a small TV monitor for external display of what the camcorder sees… Canon HF R500. And an external mic from Audio Technica.

That was my second question concerning an external mic. I hear you need an adapter for that aswell since the iphone won't recognize the mic. I ordered an iphone tripod and don't know what ill be using to edit since I'm completely new to all of this. Any advice on what ill need?

  • Would updating iphone 3g to 4.2.1 allow video recording and mms messaging? I'm getting an iphone 3g that is updated to 4.2.1, will i be able to send picture messages and will the phone have the APPLE CAMERA APP? Thanks Btw the iphone 3g hardware is capable of video recording
  • Why doesn't the audio show up in my iOS 11 screen recording? I have the beta version of iOS 11 and have been using the screen recording function. However, the audio from what I'm doing on my phone doesn't always show up on the final video. I'm thinking it is just because of the length. I recorded a video about a minute long to test, but the video I tried to record is around 20 minutes. Is this on purpose or is it a glitch? And is there a way I can fix it?
