How to Wake on LAN (WOL) but via Wi-Fi? Is it possible?

So i have an iphone and i downloaded and app that has a remote keyboard and trackpad and also has the ability to wake on LAN. I do not want to connect my computer via ethernet though is it possible that i can Wake on LAN but via Wi-Fi? I have an Acer Aspire 5552-3691 with an ATHEROS AR5B97 network adapter, just fyi.

I'm 99% sure this isn't possible, since the laptop would have to be powered on and connected to your router in order to accept packets. This isn't really possible unless you BIOS has Wi-Fi support, and I doubt that's the case. Sorry.

Yes. You can use WOL on any device connected in the SAME network.

So If your laptop is asleep. You can hit the WOL button on your iPhone and it'll wake up.
