I'm paying for 6mbps and only getting 1.5?
I have AT&T wireless in a small apartment. I've only had it for 2 months. I use it for internet on my mac, iphone, and smart TV. It seems to run well on my TV, but my iphone and mac are running slowly when I try to download apps or stream video. I tested my speed, and it only came up as 1.5mbps. The only thing using the internet right now is my laptop.
What the heck? How do I fix this? Absolutely ridiculous.
If you go to the AT&T site and look at the ads, they'll probably say "… Up to 6 Mbps". This is how ISPs squirm out of being responsible for the internet speeds we get. There's usually no guarantee. Contact AT&T and get them to handle this problem. It should be their problem, not yours.
You are paying for UP TO 6 Mbps. That is how bandwidth is quoted for any account. What you actually get if it is a cable service depends how many others in the same area sharing the bandwidth. For DSL it depends on the state of cabling to your property and the distance from the exchange. If you are actually subscribing for wireless direct contact them, it could be problem with their transmissions reaching your apartment.
Because ISPs are ridiculous.
Google it before you ask here.
- Was getting an iPhone XR ($750) value for free while paying full price for an XS Max ($1100) value a good deal? Considering my mom did this just last week before the iPhone 11 was announced today was this a good deal, I know the value of both these phones will go down but she liked getting the free phone for my sister.

Can i terminate my contract and factory unlock it later? And Are there any problems with cancelling my contract since i'm not going back to US?
- Is there any way of getting iPhone 5 for 199$ and getting rid of the contract? I just want the phone and wanna get rid of the contract without paying for it. I know how to unlock the phone so that's not a problem.
- Is there an iPhone timer app that has a minutes-only and/or a seconds-only option? I'm looking for a timer app on my phone where I can set a timer that counts down, but have it read literal minutes or seconds. Like instead of 6:00:00 for 6 hours, I'd want it to read 240:00 (240 minutes) or just have it read 14,400 seconds. I've downloaded about 20 free timer apps, and can't find what I'm looking for. Is there one? Even if it costs money? But I'd prefer it to be free…
