#1 the digital coding is different. It is like one speaks german and one speaks french. T-mobile is GSM which is compatible with most of the rest of the world. Sprint is CDMA. They own Boost.
#2 Because they said so. They make up their own rules as they go along, so you have to buy a new phone from them. A while back verizon would not let me use my previous contract phone on their pre-paid plans from the same company.
But after tmobile buys sprint it won't matter anyway
The phone would be locked to T-Mobile (GSM) so it would need to be unlocked to work on other GSM carriers let alone Boost Mobile (CDMA).
Not sure if that could be done.
- Would I be able to switch carriers without having to switch phones? I'm with Consumer Cellular and I have an iPhone SE, but I'm thinking of switching carriers so that I can get unlimited data. I don't want to get a new phone because I've had my current one about six months, I really like it, and it works great. I'm not locked into a contract with Consumer Cellular. Would I be able to switch to another carrier without having to purchase a new phone?
- Is tbere any major différence between thé iPhone 6 and the 6s? Whooppeee is Xmas again and my daughter wants new 2nd hand) iPhone… 2 years ago almost bought her 5 before i réaliséd that it was 5s she wanted ( cos thé 5 sucks?) And I don't want to screw up this year…
- If I buy an iphone (not from the boost mobile store) can I connect it to boost mobile? Lets say I buy an iphone that isn't connect, will I be able to get it within the boost mobile network? Or is their more to it
- I bought a carrier locked ATT iPhone 5c but want to use it on T-Mobile I got a deal I couldn't pass up on an ATT iPhone 5c on Ebay, but I have T-Mobile service. Att will carrier unlock the phone if I was the original owner, but obviously I'm not. What are my options for getting it to work with T-Mobile? Is it possible to have a friend with current ATT service put their Sim in the phone and request an ATT carrier unlock acting as the phone owner? What other options do I have?
