Honestly as long as you have a bit of technical knowledge and are not scared of replacing it yourself. Go for it. There are plenty of tutorials on youtube on how to change an iphone screen. The screens still are not cheap to buy but about half the price of a repair. But do this as your own risk!
Alternatively look online for repair shops as they are normally not to expensive. Do not take it into you network shop they will over charge you allot
