I can't connect to my ad hoc network?
Ok, I know how to successfully set up an ad-hoc network.
I'm connected to a wired local connection provided by my apartment complex, and they have strict rules about using a router to broadcast a connection so I have been using the ad-hoc network to connect the internet on my phone (Maybe against their rules too, but I don't care). My computer is showing that I'm connected to my ad-hoc network as well as my phone, the only problem is that my phone won't load up any webpages or show any sign on connectivity. This ad-hoc network was previously working fine for me. I'm using a iPhone 4S and operating on Windows 7, everything was working earlier, so maybe I'm thinking they had blocked the IP of my phone to deny a connection? Any help would be appreciated.
Or is there anything else I can do to share a connection with my iPhone?
I have already checked my services.msc and made sure that the services are automatic and starting as well.
This is confusing…
Your building is against using Wireless signals… Yet you implement the simplest and by far not the smartest of Wireless… Using Ad Hoc.
If your going to use Wi-Fi… Just use an access point… Don't broadcast… And manually connect to the Wi-Fi connection…
Your trying to recreate the wheel here…
Yes it seems thay have change their unsecured wireless network to secure wireless network.
- Wi-Fi on iPhone keeps saying unable to join network (my network name)? How can I fix this! It's been like this for a week but it works on my laptop fine. I tried unplugging it for a few seconds, I tried resetting network settings, I tried turning my phone off then on again, and I know I'm typing it right. I even typed it in upper case AND lower case. Does anyone know how I can fix this?
