I can't connect to a network on my Mac?

I have a macbook pro. I'm trying to connect to my home Wi-Fi which is password protected. I put the password in and everything however its not working. Says i need to restart router all the time (which i have done, makes no difference) The Wi-Fi router is plugged into my home computer, does that affect it? Wi-Fi works on my iphone and other latop… *confused*

That seems strange. The Mac OS has no message like that. It doesn't even know if it is a router. It just knows it is a Wi-Fi network.

Test the router with another Wi-Fi computer or pick up your notebook and walk down to the corner book shop, coffee shop, Safeway or library. If your notebook connects fine to another network, reset the router… No, don't just restart. Do the full reset (usually a button you push in and hold for ten seconds).

I tried unplugging it for a few seconds, I tried resetting network settings, I tried turning my phone off then on again, and I know I'm typing it right. I even typed it in upper case AND lower case.   • One laptop can connect to our home Wi-Fi network but no other devices can connect? We recently set up a wireless internet connection in our house. One laptop can connect to it (the one I'm currently on) but no other devices can connect to it. It says our "Network Security Key" is mismatched. I have tried typing in all the different codes on both the router and modem on both our second laptop and an iPhone 5. How can I fix this?
  • My iphone will not connect to my home Wi-Fi. It can connect to any other network with no problems All my other devices at home connect with no problem, but once i updated my phone it won't connect here. I've reset the router, my network settings, forgot this network, even wiped out my phone and it still won't work. I changed the dns several times. Sometimes that works for a little while, but then eventually stops. What the hell?
