I can't transfer my clash of clans?

So recently my mom bought me an iphone 4s because i used to use her phone too much that is an iphone 4s too. I always used to play clash of clans on her phone and now i'm trying to transfer that clash of clans to my new phone, i looked it up on the internet and it says just sign in with your gamecenter and it will ask you to use the clash of clan village that i had on my mom's phone. I signed on gamecenter and it dosent ask, what do i do? By the way my mom's phone is IO6 and my phone is IO7 maybe that might be a problem?

Well I don't really know but what I did was get to the SETTINGS. You know the one with the gears. I then followed the advice to sync the devices, I got a number combination thing and had ten minutes to put this on my other device on the same place.
