I dropped my iphone in the water
I went to the beach and i dropped my iphone in the water. (fresh water). The second i dropped it i picked it up. I dried the iphone. It can turn off and turn on and i can move the screen but the audio won't work. There's no sound but every once in a while there's a little sound of what i'm doing and then after a second there's no sound. And also when i hold the power button and shut the iphone down. You know you have to hold the button again to turn it back on well mine just turns back on with out me holding the power button. This is only with shutting down. I can perfectly turn it back on and off. Please i need help!
Turn it off and keep it off. Put it in a bag with rice and let it sit for a few days. If you keep screwing around with it, you are going to short it out and then it won't work at all.
You need to give the water time to evaporate.
It will only get worse unless you take it apart and dry it like that.
Which model is it?
You should take out the sim card and lay it flat on a paper towel. Then, you should fill a bowl or plastic bag with dry rice and submerge your phone into it. Leave it there for a good 24 hours, then remove it, put the sim card back in, and try to use it again.
The ice can absorb most of the water, which may help the audio problem you're having.
Warning: If it still seems to not be working, you may have to buy a new iPhone. At the store, don't lie to them about dropping it in water (like I did). There's a sensor in the top and the bottom of the phone that changes color when water damage occurs, so they can tell if liquid has been inside of it or not.

- I dropped my Iphone in water - no water damage showing on indicator? Here is the situation. I dropped my Iphone 5 in the toilet (I hadn't peed yet so all good there). Immediately switched it off, dried it and put it in a bag of rice. This was at about 6 p.m yesterday. This morning without turning it on I opened up the sim compartment to check the circle for water damage (checked online and apparently this is where to check for water damage). The indicator was white. It is back in the rice but I was wondering - when you think it will be ok to turn back on?
- I dropped my iPhone in water - 3 I just dropped my phone in water about a minute ago(it's 9:25 PST). I hurried up and got it out dried it off as fast as I could. It was working fine until now. It keeps popping up "charging not supported on this device" and also I just found out the sound isn't working! Now I can't even listen to all the money I spent on my songs. Is there anything to help this? I was thinking I can back it up on iTunes? Would that help? I don't know I just need major help please.
