I dropped my IPhone in water! What will happen if i took it to Vodafone?

OK i was crabbing with my brother and i dropped my phone in the harbour but fortunately it hit a step, unfortunately the step was submerged in water, fortunately we were able to get it. It was submerged for 3 seconds. Its fine but the speakers are on and off all the time and the volume control disapears all the time! I really loved my phone but now i hate it because i have a 4 hour drive back to Uxbridge tomorrow and i hate not having my music. What will happen if i took it to vodafone? Would they repair it or is it damaged beyond repair?

You should turn it off and put it in a bag of uncooked rice. That usually takes the water out.

Try putting it in a bowl of dry rice first if nt than you can get it fixed but it will cost alot

You need to make an appointment at the apple store. They'll try to fix it for you if not you can get a brand new one £140 for iPhone 4S £190 for iPhone 5

Same happened to my iPhone dropped twice in sea covered it and I was really frustrated but were I live I wasn't able to get it fixed probably, all I did was restored it and it seemed to be fine for a whole it does have a wee hiccup a every couple of months but its completely fine by my slandered anyways.

If you took it to vodaphone and say water damage they would most likely just say beyond repair

If you have any kind of warranty i think they will directly give you a new one but if that won't work out i suggest you leave it off for a hour or 2

They can tell if the phone has been submerged. Unless you have a service plan that covers water damage, you would need to purchase a new phone. I would go to a supermarket and get some kitty litter "crystals". This is essentially silica gel. Place the phone in a bag with the silica gel. I wouldn't hurt to place it in a warm place like on top of a refrigerator but don't heat it up or put it in a hot place like the dashboard of a car. Leave it for a day or two and the silica gel will absorb the moisture from the phone.
