I dropped my phone into water?
I immediately got it out and dried it on its surface it was still working. Then it stopped working at a point. After 4 hours, only then i was able to, i put it in rice. What are the chances that this phone survives? We talk about an iphone 4 s.
Depends on the damage
The phone would likely cost more to repair than buying a new phone if it doesn't work after putting the phone into rice.
Leave it switched off with rice for 24 hours. Hopefully it will be ok

No one should be so bloody daft as to have their electronics anywhere near water.
Rice is a waste of rice. It does nothing to draw water from inside the phone where it's causing damage.
As the phone was powered up when it got immersed, and because some materials inside are permanently changed by exposure to water, don't expect it to work and if it does then don't expect it to work for much longer.
A used replacement 4s costs peanuts as does a 5 or 5c because they are no longer supported by Apple. If you buy another iPhone make the 6 your minimum target as all support for the 5s will probably end later this year if another iOS major update comes out which the 5s can't run.
Take more care with the replacement.

With electronics nowadays there's a good chance the water damage is fixable.
Get calcium chloride put a tsp of the stuff in a plastic tupperware thingy, set the device above the calcium CHL, put lid on the container.wait a day, till water if any is still in it, pools in the bottom, get some tuner cleaner, take out the battery squirt a spray inside the phone

This morning without turning it on I opened up the sim compartment to check the circle for water damage (checked online and apparently this is where to check for water damage). The indicator was white. It is back in the rice but I was wondering - when you think it will be ok to turn back on?
