I found one iPhone 5 recently on the airport. How can i unlock it and use it?

As per suggestions on the net, I tried to unlock it by restoring the factory setting using itune by pressing power button and home button simultaneously for some time.
After restoration process got over, i tried to activate the phone but i'm get the message "This iphone is currently linked to an apple ID…" and i'm not able to activate it.

Can someone help.

Return it to the airport. That is theft.

You should turn it into the police. If no one claims it after a certain period of time, it will be given to you. You can then take it to an Apple store to have them reset the phone for you.

If they have it updated with the ios 7 then you can't, ever. That operating system has the added benefit of not allowing a thief to try and reset our phones without supplying the password.

Nice! Way to go in finding an iPhone. Don't feel bad about keeping it, if the universe didn't want for you to have it you wouldn't have found it. When I found my iPhone 5 I first removed the SIM card… I then took it to a small retail store who erased the previous data and passcode for $10.00; it then started it over as a new user. Now I've could have done this step myself but i wanted to expedite changing it over before it was reported lost or stolen. I was later able to change the information in apple's system, and was able to claimed the remaining warranty. When the phone died apple gave me a new replacement unit. Lmao! I'm now using a prepaid and is paying $55 a month for a unlimited service on an iPhone.
