I found an iphone 4s that's locked. How can I unlock it and use it?
I work at a bar and people leave their phones all the time. I had an iphone 4, but it recently broke. I took an iphone 4s that has been at my work for the last 4 months.
I was hoping to use it. The only problem is their is a passcode on the phone. How can I unlock it and wipe it to use it?
Added (1). Sorry I forgot to mention this phone has been sitting in our lost and found for quite some time. I did not steal it.

Try turning off the phone by pressing the 'Home' button and the 'Wake' buttons at the same time. Hold it down for a few seconds and the device will shut off. Plug the devices USB cable in the into your computer only. (Don't have it plugged to the phone yet). How down the devices 'Home' button as you plug the USB cable into it. When you see the connect to iTunes screen (has the cable cord with an arrow pointing to the iTunes sign) release the 'Home' button. If that screen on your iPod doesn't come on try repeating the first 3 steps another time. Keep your iPod off the entire time or you will not get that screen. It shouldn't be on at any point during this.
And what do the laws of your state say about deposing of valuable lost and found items?
I don't know of any state's that allow them to be up for grabs by employees.

- I found one iPhone 5 recently on the airport. How can i unlock it and use it? As per suggestions on the net, I tried to unlock it by restoring the factory setting using itune by pressing power button and home button simultaneously for some time. After restoration process got over, i tried to activate the phone but i'm get the message "This iphone is currently linked to an apple ID…" and i'm not able to activate it. Can someone help.

- I found a found and nobody called. ITs been a month. What should i do? I found a iphone 5 and i factory reseted it after nobody called for about a month. A message from the owner showed up after reseting it and I called that number and texted it repeatedly but no answer. So i'm thinking of giving it to my sister since her phone broke but its locked from icloud. What can i do? I have the phones MEID & IMEI number. - What are my options? Its a waste to just throw it away.
