I got a iphone 5 on ebay and it is locked to att?
I was wondering can I make it unlocked? The imei of it is 013334000237758. Can I call att and let them make it unlocked? How much it is gonna cost?
You'd have to talk to AT&T. As far as cost, not sure.
I have done a fair bit of research on this topic. You need to take the phone to AT&T to have them unlock it. They don't charge much for it. They won't unlock it if it has a bad ESN (Which is its Serial Number) The phone will have a bad ESN if it was attached to an account with delinquent charges on it. If the phone is able to be unlocked, make sure that the company you want to transfer it to is GSM like ATT is. The following companies that I know of are GSM:

-T Mobile

Make sure the company you are transferring the phone to have the same frequencies at AT&T. Also, Make sure the company you are transferring the phone to carry iPhones. Believe it or not, some companies still don't carry iPhones! :0 You could also flash the iPhone over to a different network… That is quite complicated if You aren't too tech-savy.
