I got my iPhone 4 wet. Can I pay for an iPhone 4S to replace it?
I wen't to Apple after going through a lot with the water damage. The woman said "I can't belive you're iPhone is still working." So she told me to go home at soak it in rice. She said their is a "CHANCE" of it working again. I'm wondering because she told me if I wanted to replace my iPhone it would cost 169$. Can I buy an iPhone 4S with the same cost?
You can't beat the $169 refurbished iPhone 4S from Apple.
Reasons:
1. The refurbished iPhone has been tested and restored to the Apple approved standards.
2.It's an iPhone whose problems were identified, resolved, and most likely not to return again.
Apple could replace your damaged iPhone for $169 with a perfectly working refurbished one.
One particular Apple Store cloned the iPhone we brought in and replaced it with the refurbished one. Not all stores will do the cloning though, just ask nicely.
Suggestion: make an online appointment with the Genius Bar in your area ahead of time so as not to waste too much time waiting for assistance.
I don't think replacing a 4 is that expensive. 4S is going for about $100 dollars right now because of the iPhone 5.
