I have an iPhone 3 should I be ashamed of it?

I'm 14.
I had a IPOD touch 5 and someone asked if that was an iPhone 5 and a boy that always picks on me says "no it's a IPOD touch 5 she can't afford iPhone 5"

And today I told my friend I'm getting my mums iPhone 5 for Christmas because she got the 6… "are iPhone 5's still new?" And my friend says to me "yes and iPhone 4's are old and iPhone 3G's are old no offence"

Because she said no offence it offended me. I hate it when she says no offence and expect it to block out the offence
If she just said "and iPhone 3G's are old" without the no offence I would of felt less offended.

I'm sad now. Should I be ashamed?

Sweety you are young so these status symbol things makes you ashamed and even when most of us would tell you it is not at all a matter of shame, still you would feel ashamed coz you are too young and thus don't realize that iphone is not a matter of shame, today this thing is hurting you, another day another thing will hurt you. You can't have all the latest things in world. You should learn to be proud of the things you have and shouldn't bother about what people think coz the more you will bother, the more they will make you bother.

Oh my gosh I can't believe I actually opened a question by an iPhone 3 user… I'll have to disinfect my eyeballs. The shame… No one at the iPhone 6 club can hear about this.

No, you should not be ashamed. But you should really upgrade though, its pretty old.

If you're ashamed, give your phone to a kid in Syria who just had his house blown up and only has the clothes on his back. Maybe that will make you feel better.
