It may be a earphone issue after was unplugged or while plugged in. Try plugging earphones in and out a few times, finally unplugging it and see if volume goes up on videos etc also try with earphones in

The media volume and phone/ringer volume are different. If they are both at maximum level then it sounds like you might have faulty speakers.

  • My iphone 4s won't play text tones or have media volume? My iphone 4s recently stopped playing text tones and when i try to listen to any sort of media, the volume is gone and will not turn up. The switch on the side is on, i checked and its been like this for weeks. I was wondering if there's anything i can do to fix this problem.

I have a 2 month old iPhone 4, and all the sudden during a phone call (don't call to much, but starting to a little more) it went down Really low. It's on maximum, but it seems like it's on minimum. My friend suggested taking it to Apple, but my Dad won't be happy, for this is my first phone, and I've only had it for 2 months. Is there another way I can change it so I don't have to get a whole new phone?
