I have good credit, do I need to pay deposit?

I'm in the process of buying an iphone but it says that the deposit could be from $400-$600. That's way out of my pocket. Is there any way I could work around not paying deposit?

I'm probably NOT the best person to answer--I am so antiquated I don't know exactly what an IPHONE is. But if it's anything similar, let's say to--please DON'T laugh!--good, old cheap METRO PC, then I would say you can go to just about any large pharmacy, mall or local IPHONE shop in your area… Again, if IPHONE is as "abundant" as METRO is.

If you shop around you can find that some shops are eager to sell or get you as a client, so they will waive deposit or maybe give you a paying plan.

The economy is at a point in which good old bargaining comes in pretty handy. And the bargaining is NOT necessarily asked by the customer, but offered by the business!

  • Would I have to pay California tax if I bought an iPhone in NV with a CA credit card? Don't really want to pay $60 extra in tax for my phone if I can hop over to NV and not pay it…
  • Why do AT&T, Verizon and Sprint need a deposit? Because I went to any AT&T couple weeks ago to get the iPhone 4 and the guy told me I needed a 300 dollar deposit, why do you need it
  • Verizon upgrade fee? Can I pay at the store or do I have to pay it the next bill? I plan on upgrading my phone and renewing my contract next month in January. I plan on getting the iPhone 5s. I'm on this family plan with one line. Is there's an activation fee that I have to pay? Can I pay the upgrade fee at the store while purchasing the new phone? Or do I have to pay it on the next bill?
  • Sprint mobile credit/deposit? I've had virgin mobile for the past two years. Now I want to switch to Sprint to purchase the iPhone 5. Being only 21 years old I don't know how my credit score would affect with trying to open a sprint account. I'm living in a dorm and I only pay my internet/cable bill that has my social security number on it. I make those payments on time. And have nothing in collections. Would I be able to open a sprint account without a hefty deposit?
