I'm in year 12 and I'm leaving school this year because I won't be doing A2, and well there's this teacher i'll call him Mr.J and we've been friends since the beginning of the year, I like all the other girls had a tiny bit of a crush on him when he came in September, his quite good looking and only 25. But obviously I thought it was kinda silly liking a teacher so I didn't really think twice about it just that he was a hot guy, but then I got him for science and everything was normal until one day when I was in lesson I had my iphone playing Jimi Hendrix and he saw and he came over and we just started talking about music, like actually speaking to each other like friends, we like the same music and that sparked everything off, I would almost every lesson we had before break or lunch stay behind and just speak to him, literally about anything, I think his so funny and smart and kinda sweet, when my ex-boyfriend broke up with me he told me he didn't know what he was missing and I was like not much and he laughed and he went if only your were 5 years older quietly and I was like what sir and he just laughed and said nothing, he also tells me everything about himself I think he might like me oh and on the day of my last test I saw him in the parking lot and he gave me his number and said to call him when I leave, is this illegal? I like him and I want to remain friends with him when I leave so maybe we can have a shot at a proper relationship i like him, help? What to should I do

It's not illegal but I guarantee you if anyone finds out he will be fired pretty quickly and there will be an investigation to make sure there was no grooming involved (which there's from what you are saying). Just the comment about you being 5 years older would have him in front of the school authorities. It is unprofessional to say the least. He is abusing his position as a teacher. The fact is that male teachers have hundreds of girls with crushes on them, I guarantee you aren't the only one. What he is doing is a mandatory reportable offence against teaching policy and he won't last very long in the job if he keeps this up. Unfortunatley young teachers, both male and female, are very very stupid when it comes to things like this.

I don't think it's illegal after you've left but you shouldn't rush into texting and meeting him after you leave. It's him that'll come out worse if anything happens and it is illegal so be careful. I think you should do some research on whether it would be illegal because I don't know for certain.

You might cost him his job, so don't ring him.

If it's gonna make you happy, go for it. It's not illegal once you've left the school.
