I just bought a Koodoo SIM card for iphone4, but I get this message

"SIM Not Valid - the SIM card that you currently have installed in this iPhone is from a carrier that is not supported under the activation policy that is currently assigned by the activation server. This is not a hardware issue with the iPhone. Please insert another SIM card from a supported carrier or request that this iPhone be unlocked by your carrier. Please contact Apple for more information."

If you own the phone and you know that your contract with the original carrier is over… Then give them a call and request an unlock code for the phone, and get it unlocked then the KOODOO sim will work…

So recently my blackberry 8520 broke and my dad decided to order me an iphone4 but he is going to take the sim card out of that and put it into his phone (not sure how but okay) this phone is from t-mobile and my sim card is tesco (on contract) i'm going to put my sim into the iphone but i'm not sure if i will need to get it unlocked or cut or something?
