I just don't get this whole calories and kilo calories thing?

I want to loose 15 kg (33 lbs) in 2 months. I'm currently 95 kg(209 lbs) and I'm 180 cm tall (5'10").
I know that in order to loose 1kg I need to burn 7709 calories. ( 3500 calories for a pound). Today I worked out and lost about 560 calories accroding to my running tracker app for iPhone. Now I ate a dish of pasta with sauce. I read on the label of the pasta plastic bag that for 100g it contains 350kcal. The whole thing is 400g and I ate about 200g of pasta which means that I've consumed about 750kcal which according to Google is 750.000 calories. So, some basic math (700.000 / 7709 = 97.2), and I've put on 97.2 kg? I just don't get it?
Please clear my mind.

You confused because you're having problems with units. The difference between metric, inperial, and US customary units of measure are obvious to most… That is until you get to the calorie. To better understand the conventions which make the "calorie" such a bug-a-boo, read this article from Wikipedia ---> http://en.wikipedia.org/...ki/Calorie.

The 7709 calories you need to burn are really Kcalories or 1000 (metric) calories.
When Google told you 750 Kcal is 750 calories, it simply substituted the metric calories in Kcal for the nonmetric calories which is equal to 1000 metric calories or 1Kcal.

Yes, it's confusing but you'll eventually learn to understand what "calorie" is being used given the source of the information.

  • What started the whole Iphone 6 bending thing? There's this joke going around that the Iphone 6 can bend, so people started breaking their phones in half, how did this start? Also, who led people to think that you could microwave the Iphone?
  • Just updated to iOS 8 on my iPhone and it changed my ringtone and don't let me change it back? So I just updated to iOS 8 yesterday, but today all of a sudden my ringtone changed to a ding sound opposed to the original notification noise when I get texts. So I was like okay weird but no big deal I'll just change it back. So I went to settings and sounds and found the original ringtone and chose it. But when I went back out it didn't save. So I kept trying over and over and it still will not save it. It keeps going back to the ding ringtone. Am I doing something wrong? Any help?
  • Is there such thing as an iPhone data cable that JUST connects the device and does not charge it? I have an iPhone 5 and the best way to connect it to my car stereo is USB in. The USB gives the best sound but I don't want to ruin my battery by charging and unplugging all the time. So basically IIm looking for a data cable the transfers data, but will NOT change my phone.
  • Is Corporatism a bad thing or a good thing? I think its a good thing because without it we wouldn't have the things we have today like Xbox 360 and Xbox One and PlayStation 4 and Android and IPhones and other things. Face it without Corporatism we wouldn't be where we're today all of our success and technology and medical breakthroughs has Corporatism to thank. Socialism could have never created the technologies and things we use today.
