I know the iPhone 8 is waterproof but what about the home button? I rubbed a soaking wet towel to clean it. Will anything be damaged?

There's nothing on this planet that is "waterproof".
That said, you can clean the button with a DAMP cloth, Not one that is soaking wet.
The iPhone 8 (and 8 Plus is) not waterproof. It has an IP rating of 67 which means your iPhone 8 can be fully submerged in up to 1 meter of water for up to 30 minutes without being damaged.
So, it should not be damaged by a wet towel. However, depending on the age and other factors it is possible to be damaged.
Not waterproof. Water resistant.
The Home button on an iPhone 8 is not a physical button. Capacitive so there's no way for water to get in that way.
- Will my waterproof iPhone get water damage if I wet it while it has a tiny crack? I have an iPhone 8 which is waterproof but I have a very TINY crack on the screen, you can't see it unless you look for it. I only noticed it was there because I felt it when scrolling on it. My question is, could I still get my phone wet or will it break because the water will go through the crack? I used to love taking it into the ocean with me and I'd like to take it with me while I go tubing.
- People that buy iphones don't know anything about technology did you know that? Like my friend just brought iphone and I asked him if it has 4g late he said what's that? Then I asked how fast is the processor like 1.2 dual people buy them because its more mainstream and because their friends have iPhones Samsung is way better based on specs and technology the iPhone 4s and 4 processors are very slow
- My iPhone 5s got wet but it still working. But the touch screen is a bit slow. Is it safe to use? I dropped my phone in water but pulled it out immediately. I powered it down, dried it off, and let it sit for 30 or so minutes. At first the screen was red but then turned on and everything works. The touch sometimes is unresponsive. Is it safe to use my phone? I'm letting it air dry by a window because rice can cause erosion… Should I use it?
- Is there an iPhone app to go to the home screen? My Home button isn't working well? IIm afraid my home button will completely stop working soon enough, and i don't currently have money to replace it. I really only need the home function, but it would be really nice if it also had a screenshot function (because screenshots need the home + lock combo) Edit: If it makes any difference, my phone is an iPhone 3GS (old, lol) and has iOS 6.1.6.
