I lost my backup on my computer, is there any way to get it back?

I knew I was getting a new iPhone 5 because I cracked the screen on the old one, so I made sure to back up my phone on the computer prior to taking it in. I made sure to do a complete backup, (which took like an hour or two) and after I was done it said latest backup: today at…

Then my old phone was wiped clean and I came home with the new one, and when I plugged it into the computer it said there were no backups on this computer, so I couldn't get anything back. I looked everywhere and there's no record of my phone ever being backed up on my computer.

The location of the iPhone backup files generated in iTunes is the following directory:

Windows XP:
\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\

Windows Vista or Windows 7:
\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\

Replace USERNAME with your personal account name.

In case you deleted the files, use a software like Recuva to restore the files.
