I put my iPhone in rice after water damage but it's still overheating?
My iPhone 4 was only submerged in the water for a matter of seconds, but I dried it up as much as I could and then took it home and put it in a bag of dry rice for 3 days. I then turned it on and put it on charge, but it'll only charge up to 11% before overheating.
If I put the phone back in the bag of rice for another couple of days do you think this issue will be solved?
Doesn't matter how few seconds - water + electronics = disaster.
The best you can do is try it. If it doesn't work, you'll have to call Apple and see if you have a warantee or what they think you should do.
No putting it in rice will not help anymore, i suggest you go into itunes and restore your iPhone and see the results this could possibly fix it.
- Will my iPhone still work after water damage? It fell into a bucket of water last night and I can't turn the phone off because the screen is black. I can hear the phone ringing and vibrating, but can't see anything. I put it in a bowl of rice, is this fixable? Will the screen eventually work?
- Iphone water indicators not pink, still possible water damage? Hypothetically, if you got your iphone 4s wet, but the water indicators are not triggered at all, is it still possible the phone has water damage on the inside that apple would find if they took it apart?
- IPHONE 5C WATER DAMAGE? Will putting it in rice help it? I dropped my phone 5c in water and didn't notice so it sat there for quite a while… But when I took it out it was working perfectly fine! I put it in rice and checked it again two hours later and it said that the battery had died. I plugged it in and it was charging like usual so I figured there was nothing wrong with it, I kept it in the rice anyways. Six hours later I took it out again and the screen won't turn on, and it does not respond to charging it either.
- I dropped my iphone on the ground in the rain and it still works, should I still put it in rice? It's been thundering the past week and I dropped my phone on my driveway. It was there for no more than five minutes and it works fine, I had it in rice for ten minutes (doubt it did any good lol) should I keep it in the rice if it works fine?
