I put some songs in my iphone but artists won't show in the artist tab

I have an iphone 4s, latest update 5.1.1.In my itunes, artists show but on my iphone the songs show in the song tab but artists don't show in the artists tab. It says that the artist is unknown when i play a song but on itunes it shows the artist. I already did the right click on the song and getting info and typing in the artist and still won't show. Any suggestions?

If you illegally downloaded them it might just be a certain coding thing that the website does to promote their site or software. If you got them from iTunes something is definitely wrong and you need to contact Apple.

Are the songs illegally downloaded online? That might be the problem.

Handsets don't usually show up the file information connected to. M4A files… Check the format. If it's alright, go for a reconversion… Certain files tend to do so if they have defects… Perhaps coding or something. Try an alternate download… If the problem persists on files, I should assume problems connected to your iphone, may be settings, or something…

  • Songs won't show up under the artist on my iPhone? I added the album to my phone and it says its on there on itunes with the rest of that artists albums. However if I look at the music on my phone the album isn't under that artist. I went to check under songs and albums and I can find it there. The info on the album says the artists name so it's not the info thats wrong… How do I get it to show up under the artist?
