I recently bought an AT&T apple iphone 3g 8gb smart phone off ebay?
I have a AT&T prepaid phone. I put in my sim card into the phone i just got and all i get is emergency calls only. Is there a different card i need to get or what?

Yeah - it doesn't work like that.
AT&T wants their cut.
You'll probably have to call AT&T, and see what they say, you may need a different (and probably more expensive) SIM for it.

I read somewhere that you have to buy the iPhone from Virgin Mobile or else it won't work, but then I read somewhere else that you can put any iPhone you bought on Virgin Mobile.
