I recently dropped my iPhone 5S in water?

I luckily had my life proof case on, but I didn't have the headphone cover screwed in at all ( it wasn't there. ) I was cleaning my bathroom, and had the cleaner in the sink, and had my phone up next to the sink. I accidentally bumped my phone, and it landed in the water. I quickly took it out of the sink, dried it off, and put it in a bag of rice.

After awhile, I realized that my music wouldn't work. When i tried to turn on any music, the volume screen would come up and say "Headphones", telling me that I had headphones in. But, I went to settings > sounds > ringer and alerts and I turned it up and my volume worked without headphones! But it still tells me I have headphones in, causing me to not be able to hear any music or alerts. (texts, phone calls, music, youtube, etc)

(My music does work when I use headphones)

I looked this up and I saw "try unplugging/replugging a pair of headphones into the headphone slot 7-8 times" and "blow into the headphone slot and speakjers" and neither of them worked.

Please help me As soon as possible! I guess for now I will just use my vibration.

Clean it well and bring it to an apple store. Don't tell them what you did but simple mention that you use your phone at the gym working out (if they suspect water damage) and suddenly it doesn't work anymore.

You haven't asked a question.

The rice trick doesn't take just hours, it can take days to get full functionality back. Did that to an Android once and to get the speakers back it was over two weeks. All you can do is exactly what you've been doing. Maybe some canned air, but bottom line moisture inside is playing tricks with the circuits. Dare to enter the Applestore at your own risk. Inside the phone is a water mark indicator that turns blue when exposed to moisture. They'll know due to the strip and hand it right back to you--warranty negated. Just keep trying. Best luck.

  • My iPhone 4s has recently recovered from water damage, will i experience some issues? My iPhone 4s was dropped in a pool last weekend, two days after it recovered and was working like normal. Today i started experiencing some problems with the speakers, they tend to work and then not work and then work again. I was wondering what will be some consequences or other issues i might experience and how to solve my speaker problem.
  • I recently dropped my iphone and both sides cracked entirely. Is it fixable? I dropped my phone and the the front and back are completely shattered. The screen lights up but will not show anything. Is it possible to get the screen fixed even if nothing is appearing? About how much would all this cost?

  • I dropped my Iphone in water - no water damage showing on indicator? Here is the situation. I dropped my Iphone 5 in the toilet (I hadn't peed yet so all good there). Immediately switched it off, dried it and put it in a bag of rice. This was at about 6 p.m yesterday. This morning without turning it on I opened up the sim compartment to check the circle for water damage (checked online and apparently this is where to check for water damage). The indicator was white. It is back in the rice but I was wondering - when you think it will be ok to turn back on?
