I tried to reset my iPhone and now it's saying my phone isn't activated?

I tried to reset my iPhone because I had 4.9 GB of "other" in the storage and tried deleting everything to get rid of it. I've reset my iPhone once before and it worked perfectly. This time however, when my iPhone came back up it had me fill out my language, country, Wi-Fi, and then proceeded to tell me my iPhone could not be activated "because the activation server can't be reached. Try connecting your iPhone to iTunes to activate it, or try again in a couple of minutes."

I tried hooking it up to iTunes several times and it didn't work. I've been trying again in a couple of minutes for the past 2 hours. I'm confused what activate means? Like to a network? I have a contract with Verizon, so a network shouldn't be an issue, right? The last time I tried this it didn't even ask to be activated. Is this an Apple issue or Verizon issue? And can it be resolved without going into a store?

I had this problem and I have it again now and every freakin time I had to go into there store and wait for a Magical Genius to tell me to wait a week then come back so they can just enter the IMEI number in a machine and activate it.

I wish you the best with your iPhone but I will be switching back to Android or Blackberry were the customer service is alot more friendly.

You might just need to wait however its likely not to get activated with the Magical Fairy Genius that waste your time.

I have Sprint and the same thing is currently happening to me. I wanted to reset my 4s to download iOS7 since I didn't have enough space and it tells me it can't be activated.iTunes didn't work for me either. It's seriously driving me crazy

Yep. It seems alot of people are having this problem but I have AT&T. This problem is probably occurring due to the amount of people trying to download the new iOS. Every server is pretty much overloaded right now because everybody and their 4 year old who owns an iphone is getting it. Sorry man. Your best bet is too go to a store.
