I turned on assistive touch for my iphone 5 and now screen won't work?

All the physical buttons work but if i try to use the screen it doesn't recognize my finger. I can't restart it because the power off is on the screen. What do i do?

I think if you triple tap the home button, an option appears on the screen that you can turn assistive touch off with.

Hi that happened on my iPod I had to plug it into the laptop and go into iTunes and turn assistive touch off and there you go! X hope it works

I let it sit there for a couple minutes, I pressed the home button and the screen turned green, It was green for a minute. It shut off and won't turn on. I plugged it into the charger 20 mins ago and still no response. Also, my power button broke a whille ago. What can i do? Keep it plugged in until it turns on or should i unplug it for a couple days?
