I've been told I have a good singing voice but I don't know if it is true?
Every chorus teacher I've had has told me I have a unique voice. I've been in select choir up until my freshman year of high school. When I applied for select vocal ensemble in my high school, my teacher told me I have a unique and beautiful voice but I'm often out of tune when I'm singing without instrumental accompaniment.
My sister tells me I have a lovely voice but my mom tells me I suck, not that she has much music training herself; she has no music training.
When, I listen to myself, after recording with my iphone, my voice sometimes sounds a bit flat, I don't know if it is just bad recording quality or what…
So, my main question is, do I or do I not have a good voice that could be trained? Are my teachers just trying to make me feel better or?
I want to try out for vocal ensemble again. I've practiced this summer with accompaniment by playing the piano, myself so my pitch isn't weird.
How can you expect a good answer i there's no link to hear you?
I can't see how anyone is going to be able to comment on your singing without hearing it!
However, if your teacher says you sometimes sing out of tune and you have found that to be the case yourself when you've recorded your own voice, it seems likely that you do have a pitching problem. I can't say how "unique" or "beautiful" your voice is because I've never heard it. Again though, I would tend to go with what teachers have told you.
- Will my singing voice sound better recorded on a professional mic in a studio? & does it get edited? All I have to record me singing is my iPhone & I think I sound awful over that & it makes me sad & say horrible things that I suck
- Why does my singing voice sound so different when recorded? When I sing on the voice memo thing on my iPhone my voice sounds kinda odd. It doesn't really sound that good. When I sing out load or on a microphone my voice sounds really good. Like, I just downloaded a microphone app and when I sang into it I can hear my voice live And it sounded good. Why does it sound different when I record it on my iPhone? It's not off pitch or anything it just seems weird and less "singy" I can't really explain it.
- People who have an iPhone 4S: Have you ever told Siri to go ma$turbate? I did and she said "we're talking about you, not me" how did she know? This is the first sexual question in the 7 questions i asked tonight.
- Do I have a good singing voice? I recorded a 2 minute cover of "Rather Be" on my iPhone. Please tell me what my voice needs and if it's good or not. I love honesty so just please please be honest with my voice. BTW Everyone thinks I have a very nasal voice. What do you think? I also have asthma so my breath isn't the best.
