I want to downgrade from the iPhone?

So I currently have the iPhone 4s and I'm eligible for an upgrade. I don't want to upgrade my phone. I'm actually looking to downgrade and get a "dumber" phone. My phone bill is crazy and I don't want to be paying that much each month for a phone I barely even use! My phone carrier is AT&T and I wanted to know if anyone has a similar experience. Have the downgraded from a smart phone to a dumb phone? I honestly just need a phone to make phone calls and I think I can do that with any phone. I don't need an iPhone. I just want to make sure that I'm approaching the problem correctly and smartly. I was hoping someone can tell me what I can do.

I just downgraded my phone plan with ATT. I was till in my contract and they had no problem downgrading my plan. I went from 120/month to 70/month.

The main thing you want to do is first determine the hours per month you use, the number of texts and data you use per month, then go to a local certified retailer and tell them you want to change your plan. You do not have to replace the phone if you do not want to. Your bill is based on the hours, texts and data in your monthly plan, not the phone you use (once you are out of contract).

Once you figure out your average monthly usage of talk-hours, texts and data (the retailer can pull up your info and tell you these numbers), ask for the cheapest plan that will accommodate your usage.

p.s.--I would keep the iPhone because you can do all kinds of things with it you can't do with a "dumb phone." If you are connected to a Wi-Fi network, then you are not using your phone plane (AT&T is not charging you).
