I want to get a Iphone 5c with 16gb?
Okay so my brithday is coming in 22 days and I can possibly convince my mom to get me a iphone 5c with 16gb and this is my question. Will this be enough for these following needs:
-Instagram
-Facebook
-Maybe 3-5 games on cases of getting bored at places
-Music but not a lot maybe 10-16 songs
-Does texting take gb or calls?
Thats probably all that will be on the phone. If anyone knows the estimation of all of this it would be great.
IPhone 5s comes in three storage sizes: 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB. The term "GB" stands for gigabytes. The more gigabytes you have, the more content you can store on your iPhone - apps, games, photos, HD videos, music, movies, and more. For example, if you have a large music or photo library or you frequently download HD movies, it's a good idea to consider an iPhone with a larger storage capacity. If you have a relatively small music or photo library or rarely make or buy movies, an iPhone with a smaller capacity may be better for you. Of course, over time you will accumulate many things on your iPhone, so you'll want to think about how your storage needs may evolve.
Short answer, yes it will be enough to do all that and then some.
Coming from experience, I have an IPhone 5C and I have an Instagram, twitter, multiple apps for my little cousins to play with, and almost 100 songs! I have had this phone for a couple of months now. It has worked well and it very useful. I think you would like it too considering what your putting on it. I also have the 16GB.
Now onto your other question, I have made many calls and texts. Both calling and text messaging goes directly onto your bill if you are not under Wi-Fi. Calling or texting does not take up any GB. So you wouldn't have to worry about taking up too much of your GB with that.
P.S. Also it depends on what app you are getting because some take up more GB then others!
(but I think you should get the IPhone 5C

User Available Storage in iPhone 5S 16GB and iPhone 5C both = 13 GB or 13312 MB Roughly
Approx. Estimate of Storage
22 Apps x 10MB/App (average Application Size) = (22 x 10) = 220 MB
20Song x 8MB/Song (average Media File Size) = (20 x 10) = 200 MB
260 Photos x 2.5MB/pic (average Photo File) = (260 x 2.5) = 650 MB
5 Games x 200MB/game (Game Size)= (5 x 200) = 1000 MB
Total Usage = 220 + 200 + 650 +1000 = 2070MB or 2GB.
Free Space than you should have = 13312 MB - 2070 MB = 11242 MB or 11GB Approx.
You should get 11GB of Free Space in iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C 16GB taking the above calculation
Calling does not take up GB's or MB's unless you are Recording them. Text Messages are hardly in KB's and that won't be much of a problem. Considering your Usage iPhone 5C 16GB option should work out
You get an iPhone on your birthday. Lucky.
Very good choice. It will be enough for your needs. If you run out of space you can backup some stuff on iCloud which is 5GB.
Realistic space consumption:
Facebook - nothing
Instagram - nothing
Games - 50-150MB per game?
16 songs - 100MB
Text messages - nothing
16GB is a lot of space. You will consume it mainly by photos & videos you will record yourself.
- Will a 16GB iPhone 5 have 16GB of space? I want to get an iPhone 5 and the 16GB will suffice, however I'm concerned about the actual space. I have a 32GB iPod Touch but according to iTunes the maximum space available is 28.5GB. Could I expect this sort of thing to happen on the iPhone?
- I want to get the iPhone 5c but I want to stay with my prepaid plan? Can I just go to the apple store and purchase an iPhone 5c and go on Verizon's website and activate it? I pay 50 dollars a month for unlimited text/call/internet can I still keep paying 50 a month or will Verizon make me change my plan?
- My new 16gb iPhone 5s' storage doesn't equal 16gb? I bought a 16GB iPhone 5s and when i go to Settings > General > Usage, it says i used 2.3 GB and i have 10.6 GB available. And that would equal 12.9 GB. Shouldn't it equal 16GB?
- Is a 16GB iPad mini enough space if I already have a 16GB iPhone 4s? So I'm in the market to get an iPad mini and I'm very hesitant to spend the $100 extra for 32gb since I already have a 16gb iPhone 4S.Am I correct in this thinking? And how could I allocate storage between the two devices if it is enough?
