I want to get an iPhone 4-do I need to buy a data plan?
I found out that now verizon is selling iphone4 for free with a 2 year contract but I don't need data. I already have the 2 year contract. Do I have to buy the data plan? The description doesn't really show anywhere that you need a data plan but I don't get it still.

Verizon requires a data plan. The cheapest data plan with Verizon for a smart phone is $50 for 1GB of data.
Since you already have a contract you should contact Verizon and ask them what fees you will have to pay to get a smart phone.
