ICloud problems. Won't stop connecting iPhone and iPod. Need steps to stop it?

I have an iPhone and my little sister has a iPod that are both set up under my name. Ever since I updated her iPod everything I download starts downloading on her iPod. I even deleted my iCloud account on my phone and her iPod (ended up losing all my contacts over this).It's starting to get really annoying. Can someone please give me steps I can follow to end this connection. Don't tell me to call apple or whatever because I don't have 2 hours to sit on the phone.

Go to settings and click on icloud. You can usually just touch the switch and you can control what things will sync on icloud. Just turn off the ones you don't want
