If a buyer e-mails you on Craigslist asking you to text them, is this a scam?

I received a response for a coffee table I had up for sale. The buyer mentioned the coffee table in the response but asked me to text them. I could not find scams related to this when I searched but wanted to make sure. It appears the reply was sent from an iPhone.

Not necessarily but be very cautious.

Anyone asking you to text or email them is a spammer looking for new email addresses and phone numbers to spam. They target everyone on Craigslist

  • Why am I being charged to send e-mails with pictures in them? Please answer quickly if you can, this is kinda urgent sorry… So i have a monthly contract which allows me unlimited texts, so i get that i can't send picture texts, but to keep sending pictures to people i send them by email, but now, i get charged 25p to send an e-mail, which i think isn't fair, so does anyone know why this is happening? Btw, i have an iPhone 5 on t-mobile and EE as the carrier.
  • My Mac isn't receiving e-mails? It was working just fine, and now it isn't receiving anything. There aren't any error messages or other windows that pop up telling me what's wrong. My network connection is strong, and I'm able to receive emails on my iPhone. Just not my laptop. What could be wrong? Yesterday, I registered it with my school's network, and I think that's when I noticed emails stopped coming in. But my actual internet browsing is just fine, of course.
  • My inbox page doesn't load, I can't see my mails in my inbox? I can't see my mails, it says on top I have 16 mails in my inbox, but the page is blank. I reset safari, I can check my mails from my Iphone, but not from my laptop.
