If i bought a sim free Iphone could i get a o2 sim and use it from there?
This is probably a really stupid question, but i've no idea how these things work! Haha So basically if i bought an Iphone from carphone warehouse, which is sim free then went to o2 and got a pay and go micro sim- would this work?
The iPhone you get has to be an unlocked GSM iPhone 4 or iPhone 4S. That means it has a SIM card slot, and it will work with any company's SIM card.
Also make sure you DO NOT sign up for a contract at the same time you get the phone - phones are often advertised at low prices (say around $200) because that's the discount price you get only if you also get the contract - if you want only the phone and don't want a contract you pay much more, maybe $500 or $600.
Background info:
If a phone is locked, it will only work with the SIM card from one company - for instance AT&T iPhones are locked to only work with AT&T SIM cards. You can get locked phones unlocked, sometimes.
And iPhones from Verizon and Sprint either don't have SIM card slots at all, or only use them when you are out of the country. So you don't want one of those.
