If I restore from backup, will my new iPhone be jailbroken?
My iPhone is jailbroken. I want to back it up, so that when I get a new iPhone I can restore it from iTunes backup. If I restore it from the backup of my old phone, will this cause my new iPhone to be jailbroken?
No. Any type of restore will reset the phone to how you bought it out of the box. Even if you backup the phone while jailbroken & restore from backup. You will lose your jailbreak. From what i've heard, if you now restore your apple products, iTunes automatically updates you to the latest firmware. From my knowledge, iOS6 jailbreak won't be out for another month or so.
- When you restore an iphone from itunes backup does it restore messages? I need to restore my iPhone 4S in iTunes, will I lose my messages or will it leave the messages from my most recent back up?
- Safe to restore iPhone 5 with jailbroken backup? I had been wondering whether it's safe to restore my iPhone 5 from a jailbroken backup. I just sold my iPhone 4s and backed it up recently while it was jailbroken. Has anyone successfully restored from a jailbroken backup on the iPhone 5 yet? Please let me know.
- Restore new iPhone with only some backup? My old Iphone 4 which was 32GB was stolen and so I bought a new iPhone 4 but its only 4GB. When I try to restore it with my old iphone's backup it says its incompatible and I'm assuming this is because there's too much memory needed for the smaller space. Is there a way I can only put my contacts on to save memory?
- Is there a way(without computer)to move my texts from my iPad to my IPhone? ICloud backup? Had to restore phone to last backup and lost texts? Hi, yesterday I had to reset my phone (IPhone 8 plus) to factory default and restore it to its last backup (April 15th). I also have an iPad mini, which everything is Synced. I got everything back on my phone (up to date) except my text messages. I'm not able to access my computer right now and have read you can get them back my backing up you messages to ICloud. Is there anything I can do to get them back on my phone (they are still on my iPad mini), without using my Mac?
