If I restore my iPhone will it wipe out all of my apps and pictures?

Thats what restoring does. You would need to back it up first.

Restoring puts your phone back into the factory settings as it would be when you bought the phone initially. ITunes should prompt you when clicking the restore button to back up your phone first. This is so that when you sync your phone again after the restore, you have the option of syncing from back up, or set up as new phone but still have your apps, pictures and other data saved onto your computer. Hope this helps!

  • Will iTunes wipe out my iPhone data if it wants to Set as New iPhone? I've owned an iPhone 5s for over a year, it's currently running iOS 10.3.3 but I've just connected to iTunes for the first time however I only get 2 options, either "Set it up as new iPhone" or "Restore from an old backup", but that last backup is from 2015. So, if if I select "As New iPhone" will it wipe out my data?

  • My iphone needs to restore and I don't want all my music and apps deleted? Okay so I was doing the software update for my iPhone and after about an hour it said the update had failed due to an unknown error. Next thing I know a window comes up on my itunes that says, "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes." and that's my only option. If I restore it, I fear losing all of my apps and music that I paid for. Is there any way I can restore it without deleting all of my music and apps?
