If I sold my iphone, can they still access my icloud data after reset?

I just recently sold my iPhone to my high school cousin who broke his phone. I had an old 6S as I currently own the 7. Before selling it to him, I deleted everything--reset factory settings, erase all content, etc.

Now, I don't usually choose to back things up to iCloud to be honest. The only things that are turned "on" under Apps Using iCloud are the ones that are defaulted on (Mail, Notes, Photos, Calendars, Reminders, Find my iPhone, etc.)

My question is, when he starts using the phone and setting it up, he wouldn t be able to access any data from iCloud without my account email + password, correct? Since I erased it all? I only ask because I use my iPhone primarily for work purposes (I have no additional apps like games or anything) so I worry about some things that could be accessed, such as important notes or emails. I use notes a lot for work, and I occasionally take pictures of important documents. He s a high school freshman, so naturally I worry about what he may do if he accesses some of this.

Yes. Without your Apple ID info, no access.

At least you did clear out the data prior. A lot of people for reasons that are beyond me, never do that & even go as far to give away their SIM with the phone.

As you completely reset the phone, you're fine.
